Transasia`s national presence including that in rural areas is really noteworthy.

“My Journey with Transasia began exactly 20 years ago in 1999, when I joined Manipal Hospital. I had come here from Tata memorial hospital and we had just started a hematology lab. The management asked to expand the lab and I had no experience with how and which analyzers to order. So the director then told me, let me introduce you to one of my students who was at Jaslok and that was Mr.Jotwani. And gradually just took a liking to him, everybody likes him. He said I will help you put a machine and that time our volumes were not very high so we got a small cell counter which is still with me past 20 years. We had trouble sometimes at night, on weekends, and in times of floods or strikes but the turnaround time for the engineers has been very good. We also never had a dearth of reagents even in the time of Dengue; we had a timely reagent supply. So I have grown along with Transasia, 40 years for you and 20 years for us. Also what is noteworthy is their presence at the national level. When this national rural health mission started, it was decided that in-vitro diagnostics will play a major role, and serve the villages at the district level. I believe Transasia has complied with that and has been putting semi-automated analyzers as well as high-end analyzers at all levels. So, their contribution to corporate social responsibility or public-private entrepreneurship has been great. As I sit on the ICLH committee as a counselor, I read a lot about what we are doing at the grass root level, our big labs really don’t represent the whole of India but I see Transasia is playing a big part by reaching out to the lowest level of hematology or biochemistry laboratories across the entire country which is highly creditable.”
